The 14th APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting takes place this week in Coolum, Australia. In preparation for the meeting, the Australian Treasury, as the host department for the meeting, has prepared a number of background notes on the policy themes to be discussed by the APEC finance ministers.

The week of meetings began today with a preparatory meeting of officials to draft final documents and will be followed by a meeting of Finance and Central Bank Deputies on 31 July-1August, before the Meeting of APEC Finance Ministers will meet on 2-3 August.
