The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo on Friday announced educational programs supported by Japanese and U.S. companies for students in disaster-hit areas in northeastern Japan.

One of the programs, which are part of the U.S. "Tomodachi," or friends, postdisaster relief, allows up to 300 high school students from disaster areas to study global leadership and community service at the University of California, Berkley for three weeks with the support from Softbank Corp.

In a different summer program, supported by Coca-Cola (Japan) Co., 180 high school students in disaster areas will be invited over the next three years to stay in the United States with local families, study English and visit various places across the country at the company's expense, including air fares.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
