The Japanese government said Tuesday that anti-Japan protests in China in September have damaged Japanese companies in that country by up to 10 billion yen.
Japan has asked China to take appropriate, fair and prompt measures to compensate for the damage under domestic law, the government said in an official statement.
Amid demonstrations against the Japanese government's purchase of the China-claimed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, protestors looted Japanese supermarkets and destroyed Japanese factories and offices. - PNA
