Blizzard of Change: The ATM and Smart BankingBlizzard of Change: The ATM and Smart Banking
"Blizzard of Change" is the second of four 60-second advertisements created for Citi by BBC Advertising and independent production company, Tern. These ads, filmed in documentary style, will be broadcast on BBC World News during the commercial breaks of the Citi-sponsored series, "One Day In..." which profiles a dozen of the world's greatest cities. They can be seen during the run of the series on BBC World News through mid November. This second ad is about two important innovations in banking: the ATM, which Citi pioneered and (helped by a timely blizzard in New York) popularized in the late 1970s; and Citi Smart Banking, which enables customers to bank wherever and whenever they like. The smart banking segment, shot primarily in Singapore, features comments by Tim Kobe, head of the design firm, Eight Inc. It demonstrates a follow-on product to the ATM, the soon-to-be released 360 Station, a machine that provides the vast majority of the services of a teller in a branch.
