Two PNP station chiefs assume posts
TIWI, Albay, Oct. 1 2002 (PNA) -- The new Philippine National Police
(PNP) station chief in this town and that of Tabaco City assumed
their respective posts this morning after their predecessors were
either re-assigned or made to float at their mother offices for
reasons undisclosed by higher officials.
Police Insp. Jovito Coderes, the former chief of the Intelligence
and Investigation Division of the Legazpi PNP, became the new police
chief here as he assumed the post vacated by Police Insp. Lorenzo
Trajano.
Trajano, who only served for a year, was sacked for a still
unknown reason and is set to be assigned somewhere in Camarines Sur.
Also this morning, Police Chief Insp. Jose Capinpin assumed as
the new head of the Tabaco City PNP.
Capinpin was the former Deputy Chief of the Legazpi City PNP.
In the turn-over ceremony, outgoing Police Chief Insp. Nilo
Berdin handed him the new post.
Berdin is also expected to assume his new post as the new chief of
the PNP in the Calabarzon area.
Berdin had satisfactory accomplishments during his term that made
him finish the regular length of tenure at the Tabaco City PNP.
The new assumptions, the police said, are part of its regular revamp
for overstaying PNP chiefs and for those whose performance did not
meet the expectation of the people, as well as their senior
officials. (PNA)
