We can't blame PGMA - business sector

Davao City (28 June 2005) -- "The President has a clear economic agenda."
In one of the episode of the radio program Mindanao Scope yesterday, Mindanao Business Council (MBC) Vice-Chair Romeo Serra bared that blaming President Arroyo on the present economic situation is very unfair.
Serra explained that poverty is a global problem that spares not even the Philippines. " She's barely 4 years in the service and yet she's made to answer even for problems that sprouted 30 years ago."
With the present political turmoil, the business sector here suffers because of the indecision of potential foreign investors.
He bared that things in the business market are really very fluid and present political turmoil can caused a wait and see attitude among investors.
The MBC is discouraging Mindanaoans from joining the bandwagon which may destroy the present administration.
"The biggest victim in this situation is the Filipino people." he said.
Serra said that with the President being attacked by scandals and allegations, it is the country which suffered the most
"The government now, with all the hearings done to investigate allegations thrown to the President, is spending much time for the purpose while other important things to be addressed are relegated to the side lines," he stressed.
The MBC believes that the country will suffer more if the political instability continues.
Serra challenged the people not to be victims of politics. He explained the situation as a play of tampered political colors.
" We should leave this to the legal minds. If the President is at fault, then let this be addressed in the proper court," he said. (PIA/Mai B. Gevera)
