Muslim women's role in development cited

Cagayan de Oro City (1 July 2005) -- LANAO del Sur Governor Aleem Bashier D. Manalao this week underscored the vital role of the Muslim women in local governance, economic recovery, and peace and order in Muslim-dominated regions.

During the monthly "Mustaqbal" or religious gathering, which the provincial chief executive initiated, Gov. Manalao reiterated his call for the Muslim women in the province to always be active and effective partners in the moral and economic recovery efforts of the province.

Manalao said women are playing important roles not only in promoting peace and order, but also medium enterprises development programs and livelihood projects, including social and political affairs of the local government.

The governor said the promotion of women's active participation in promoting the development of the province is in line with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's thrust on enhancing women empowerment and the 10-point agenda. (PIA-Lanao del Sur)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
