Problems of the Filipino people

Destabilization efforts will never solve our problems

Tacloban City (26 June 2005) -- Rallies, political bickerings, exposes will never solve the problems of the Filipino people especially the disadvantaged and the underprivileged. Instead, these double the burden of the poor.

The destabilization efforts in Manila paints a bad picture of the Philippines. They destroy all the achievements that the Arroyo administration has painstakingly worked for. They drive away investors, discourage local businessmen, cause inflation and high interest rates, price hikes, make life more difficult for the Filipino. For at the tail end of the chaos they are creating is the poor Filipino who is the most affected. Most of the time, the poor are even exploited and are used by the plotters. They are made to join demos and rallies and are made the sacrificial lambs.

Who are the plotters of the destabilization movements? They are those who lost during the last elections, those who belong to the opposition, or those who espoused candidates who lost. To make it short, they are the losers who cannot accept defeat and want to make losers all Filipinos.

These detractors will never see anything good because as the adage goes: worse than the blindman is the man who refuses to see. These are the people who always focus on the negative instead of the positive. Those who see what is wrong more than what is right with people. What is better than focusing on the negative? It is focusing on the positive. If the destabilization plotters could learn to focus on the positive more than the negative, the Philippines would be a nicer place to live in.

The destabilization plotters have a vision- that of toppling down the Arroyo administration. But surprise! There is something more potent than vision and that is what President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has. She is fighting for a CAUSE - to Beat the Odds, to heal the wounds of the ailing Philippines.

Now, what are we to do? As former President Corazon Aquino said, "the best thing we can do for our country is pray for each other, pray for our leaders and as always to stick to sobriety and just follow the rules." (PIA 8)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
