Philippine Army conducts medcap in Bato town

by JR Pardo
LABO, CAMARINES NORTE (24 June 2005) -- The Philippine Army 902nd Infantry (Fight & Service) Brigade, headed by Col. Arnulfo A. Ylanan, conducted medical and dental outreach on June 3, 2005 that benefited residents of 18 barangays of Bato, Camarines Sur.

Ylanan said the MEDCAP benefited 692 medical and 157 dental patients from Barangays Agos, Santiago, Santa Cruz, Masoli, Niño Jesus, Divina Pastora, San Rafael, San Vicente, Tres Reyes, San Miguel, Sooc, Mainit, Cotmon, Del Rosario, Lobong, Lubigan, Mangga and Cristo Rey.

The MEDCAP followed the month long series of information dissemination and dialogue conducted by Task Force "CMO" headed by LTC Jose R. Pardo, 902nd IBde executive officer. The purpose of the dialogue is to enhance the Bato residents' awareness on AFP's role on peace, security and development.

During the grand pulong-pulong, Town mayor Jaime Timbang Gonzales, lauded the activities as significant and worthwhile to the people of Bato and to his administration with the AFP as partner in delivering basic services to bring the government closer to the people.

Mayor Gonzales said that this is not a form of propaganda but an activity that the government should do for the people and the people to the government. He urged Bato townsfolk to support the call of the AFP in the campaign against terrorism to prevent the society from joining the Godless ideology of Communism.

At the pulong-pulong the KALAHI Para sa Kalayaan group addressed the issues and concerns raised by the barangay officials regarding improvement and development of their respective barangays. (902nd IBde)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
