NFA assists 200 families in Cotabato province
COTABATO CITY, Sept. 11, 2000 (PIA-12) -- A total of 200 poorest families in Cotabato Province have been identified as beneficiaries of the Lingap Para sa Mahirap Program by National Food Authority (NFA).

Since December 1999 until September 6 this year, NFA Cotabato has already established 9 Erap Sari-Sari Stores in several barangays of Kidapawan City, Arakan and Aleosan.

Each baranngay in Kidapawan has 20 beneficiaries each while the four barangays in Arakan and Aleosan have 25 beneficiaries each.

The existence of the projects in the identified areas do not only benefit the targetted recipients but the whole community as well. It provides an affordable price for rice and other basic food needs in the barangays.

Under the Lingap Para sa Mahirap Program, the local government identifies the 200 poorest of the families in the locality as the priority beneficiaries. NFA, on the other hand, ensures that rice and other basic food needs are made available and accessible to these families.
