Holy Name University scores big not just for sustainable energy, but also for the environment.
Officials of the University and key partners recently launched the P10-million solar panel project at Janssen Heights campus, touted as the biggest thin-film solar panel farm in the Philippines.
The new project touts the University as the first one installing the thin-film technology in the country, said HNU president Fr. Francisco Estepa.
This move by Bohol's premier Catholic university is an implicit heed to the call of Pope Francis to care for the environment. The Supreme Pontiff came up with an encyclical titled Laudato Si, which outlines the Catholic church's stands and teachings on the environment.
