PGMA will clear issues tonight
By Jennilyne O. Casimiro
San Fernando City, La Union (27 June 2005) -- Her Excellency, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, will finally speak out live in television tonight at 7pm to address various issues thrown against her and the first family. The public are expected to be vigilant and resilient in accepting the President’s response to maintain a peaceful nation.
Now is the time the President has once set to speak out after series of attacks against her silence.
Meanwhile, the issue on the continuous oil price increase in the world market has been effectively and efficiently addressed by the government by encouraging possible alternatives through indigenous sources of power like coco diesel, hydro-power, wind propelled generators and others, thus reducing dependence on imported oils.
On the economic side, we need to be vigilant with negative front of the few to deter economic progress. Instead, our support to the economic agenda of the President should be emphasized along with the unwavering support of the local and international business groups.
Amidst the crisis the country is facing into, the government is still firm and determined to pursue the second face of its economic reform agenda after successfully finishing the first phase.
We should not give in to the negative call of the few who are insensitive of the consequences of their personal interest at the expense of the whole nation. (PIA Ilocos)
