Candidates paying permit-to-campaign fees can be charged -- COMELEC

LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 3, 2003 (PNA) -- The Commission on Election (Comelec) warned anyone who "succumbs" to the demands of the New People's Army (NPA) to pay permit-to-campaign (PTC) fee could be charged in court. Atty. Zacarias Zaragoza Jr., Comelec Bicol regional director said at the Ugnayan sa Bicol radio program aired over government radio stations in Bicol, that any candidate who pays the PTC fees can be charged for violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
