PNP declares Antique jueteng-free
by EA Abasquez

San Jose, Antique (29 July 2005) -- "Antique is a Jueteng-free province", emphasized P/Supt. Ronilo V. Quebrar, PNP Provincial Director when he guested at PIA Forum, a weekly program of the Philippine Information Agency at station DYKA. He likewise stressed that the province of Antique remains peaceful.

Quebrar explained, the PNP celebrates the Police Community Relations (PCR) month this July with the theme "Pag-ibayuhin: Magalang, Mahusay at Matapat Na Kapulisan, Lingkod Ng Bayan".

In observance of the event, he pointed out that various activities were undertaken, among which were school visits, conduct of lectures and symposiums designed to bring the government services closer to the people, thereby enhancing the participation of the community in the fight against criminality.

Quebrar underscored the need for a collaborative undertaking among stakeholders, the people in the community and the police in the anti-criminality campaign.

To drive home his point, the Provincial Director cited the latest robbery incident in the capital town of San Jose when the policemen were able to apprehend the suspects in just a short period with the support of the people.

Further, an innovative approach described as "Police Ko Textmate Ko" project was launched recently in the municipality of Laua-an as one of the strategies adopted to boost the drive against criminality.

The "Police Ko Textmate Ko" project is viewed to enhance the people's access to the law enforcement agencies in seeking assistance when the need arises.

Mayor Aser Baladjay of Laua-an and Chief of Police Jovencio Urbien have demonstrated their sincerity to curb criminality.

The said project will also be replicated in other municipalities in the province. (PIA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
