AgSur officials give unequivocal support to PGMA

BUTUAN CITY (4 July 2005) -- With the political crisis that the country is facing at present, Agusan del Sur officials led by Governor Adolph Edward Plaza gave their unequivocal support to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
The joint resolution dated June 30, 2005, the officialdom of the province represented by their chosen leaders expressed their full support to the leadership of President Arroyo stating that she is the "duly constituted and elected President of the Republic of the Philippines who will lead the country towards our common aspiration of development and good governance."
Aside from Gov. Plaza, others who signed the joint resolution were Chrisan Perez, SK Provincial Federation President; Edwin Elorde, Liga ng mga Barangay President; Frederick Mark Millana, President of the Provincial Councilor's League; Martin Johnson Heje Jr, Vice Mayors' League President; Mayors' League President Romeo del Torre; Santiago Cane Jr., Provincial Board Members' League Chair; and Vice Governor Virginia Getes.
The resolution observed that the recent scenario in the national level coupled with the political issues and controversies has greatly affected the vision and mission towards the attainment of economic development as a nation. "All these moves for the destabilization of the present leadership which desire to grab the power by any means, even resorting to "mob rule" against the duly constituted elected President of the Philippines could directly and indirectly affect not only the peace and order condition but as well as the nation's progress and prosperity", it said.
The officials also stated they believe that the President has not lost her "moral ascendancy" to govern the Filipino people and are unanimous in their intense and passionate support to the presidency of Arroyo. (PIA Caraga)
