Murillo Clan of Trinidad, Guindulman, Bohol
« on: November 22, 2010, 01:46:56 AM »
I am interested to trace my roots!  Besides my father's Chinese side, I would want to know more about my Lola Prasya's familyn (my mother's mother) .  She was Eufrasia Murillo. From what I know, she was the youngest of 15 children.  Naabotan pa naho ang ahong Lola, pero unfortunately, when she was still alive wala pa sa ahong boot nga maghimo ug "Family Tree".

I know that she had an elder sister we call Lola Epang, whose only son was Terting Murillo Olaer.  This side of the family I still have contact with.  Kahibawo nga si Nang Berbing Murillo Gamutan was my grandmother's niece.  Sa kadako sa ilang family, I hope I can somehow meet some of the them?

Thanks and more power!

Just a question; what Chinese family name does your father have?

Hi Dong Lorenz!

My father's complete name is Teodoro Amora Tan.  My complete maiden name is Annabelle Caga Tan.  I am now Annabelle Tan Kay, as I married an Englishman.

In fact, my aunt had an immigration problem when she took her C.P.A. exams kay gi question ang ijang citizenship.  In the 1935 Constitution kasi, a minor's citizenship automatically follows that of the father, thus, theoritically, my father was Chinese citizen and had to process his "citizenship" to opt to become Filipino once he came of age.

Naka eskuela ko St Mary for around 3 months. Nag-ingon man bitaw to ahong mga classmates nga naay Reunion lagi.  Pero ambot lang kon maka timing ko ug uli ... hehehe!  Hibawo na ka nga gakalisod man mi diri sa UK karon.  Haskan kaubos ang British Pound, unja lisod pa jud mangitag kapanginabuhian diri karon.

Pero thanks kaajo ... di ba naay Catungawan High School karon, just like Guinacot High School?

Thanks once again!

Annabelle

yes, yes!

my Lola Nating had the same thing happen to her. Because her father, Tan Ngai He ( my Lolo Mariano Tan) was a Chinese Citizen. She technically was a chinese citizen because of her father's nationality. and in fact, i think my lolo mariano never really proceded with naturalization to filipino citizenship. he was a chinese citizen till the day he passed away.

lolo actually took my great-lola, and their kids to china. they lived there for 4-5 years, then later moving back to Bohol.

We still have a lot of relatives in GUANGZHOU, CHINA to this day.

In fact, my lola even met her lolo (my great-great grandfather) and her lola (my great-great grandmother). 100% PURE HAN Chinese...

When they returned back to Bohol (in the early 1930's), my lola was speaking in Cantonese. Filipino (Binisaya) was a secondary language for her.

~~

When I was younger, my lola nating used to mix cantonese with bisaya hehehe. she used to sing lullabies (in cantonese) when i was younger.

Hello Day!

Naa koy mga contact with some of my relatives, pero they too have a very unclear idea of the family tree.  One of my relatives who would have been as old as my mother had she lived to this day, was even surprised to learn that my Lola Prasya was the youngest of 15 kids!  Waaaaa!

O sigi ... salamat sa pagtabang!
