A 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted western Canada Monday night, the latest quake that hit the region after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake of Saturday evening.

The quake, occurred at 7:49 p.m. local time (0300 GMT Tuesday), was recorded at a depth of 9.7 km and centered 246 km south-southwest of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Tremor was felt on Queen Charlotte Islands, or Haida Gwaii, Earthquakes Canada said.

There have been no reports on damage at this time, it added.

Numerous aftershocks, including a 6.3-magnitude quake Sunday morning, have continued following the 7.7-magnitude quake of Saturday, the largest earthquake that hit Canada over the past 60 years.

The initial quake triggered tsunami warnings from the Washington border to Vancouver Island and as far away as Hawaii on Saturday night. The warnings were lifted several hours later.
