This proposed virtual coop (TBVCC, the proposed nomen for the meantime) shall adopt an unconventional method. It will dwell on functionality first and then form consequently shall conform to the circumstances.

Since this will be precedent setting, as it has never been done before, present applicable legislations (Republic Acts No. 6938 & 6939 Cooperatives Code of the Philippines and CDA Law) and standard international practices for cooperative institutions will not be fully applicable in this case.

It may assume as a guild of technical experts in several distinct specializations, e.g.; of IT specialists (Mike, Ghost/Ban-alam, Galen, etc.), of bankers/financial gurus (junayag, Macky, etc.), of legal counsellors (delaguna, etc.), of the creative arts (prinsipe and si, vader, riva, udtohan, GEC, sigbins, snowywhite and many others) and so on and so forth. There are other specializations I can not as yet categorize among the distinguished members of Tubag Bohol ....

We can see that these guilds composed of experts in specific fields can make things happen in the Bohol microcosm.

For the prospective IT Guild in TBVCC to address . . .

I have this scenario on how we can assist our fellow Bol-anons.

We all know that throughout the breadth of our island province, smallholder livestock farming prevails. Backyard poultry, piggery, small (kanding) and large (kabaw ug baka) ruminant raising is a common practice. Time comes the need to sell these livestock and yet the market place is way far off and market day is way off. Itinerant livestock buyers take advantage of the opportunity by shortchanging the farmer of the correct weight of the animal.

A scheme is needed to determine the approximate weight of a livestock via currently available technology in the absence of a weighing scale or to validate an indicated animal weight. Right now, human body weight is casually associated with body mass index (BMI) or measured using Body Mass Measurement Device (BMMD) by astronauts in weightless (no gravity) environment.

What we are after is determining a non-gravimetric measurement of body mass, e.g.; associating weight with volume, of livestock to assist farmers deal with prospective buyers in determining an equitable compensation of their produce (livestock).

I propose for a collaborative undertaking to device a methodology by which an equivalent weight of a livestock can be determined thru the use of a cellular phone camera in conjunction with a remote computer with an appropriate application.

Hi GEC and Everyone . . .

Heard over DYRD Int'l (recorded broadcast of Aug 10, '07) on the Guv's Report time (morning slot after Fred Araneta's news portion) Miss Snowhite reporting about an activity being undertaken by the Bohol CCAD (under Ms. Ekit Butalid). Their object is to establish Municipal Arts & Cultural Heritage Councils starting with pilot towns of Anda, Loboc, Sevilla, Batuan, Albur, Bilar, Sierra Bullones & Loon.

Maybe the TBVCC (?) can make an initial effort at helping this initiative of the prov'l gov't. How?

At the outset, I can suggest TB... community can offer to setup, host, moderate, maintain, etc. a website for Bohol CCAD to be linked to the Pov'l gov't webiste. How can a community effort like this be successfully done, have the widest participation by its stakeholders, properly documented, etc. without having to avail of the benefits of ICT and the Internet? If we can do such "out of this world" beauty contests, why not this?

Snowhite can make the necessary "connect" with her colleagues over at the provincial bureaucracy.
