There is a saying that was uttered by the Great Cicero, "For Empire and For Liberty."

manay,

the only point is that, we may use phrases or clauses in forums. Complete sentences are not necessary in conjuncting ideas to a main topic.

An empire founded by war has to maintain itself by war.

Charles de Montesquieu

What do you think?

Yes. Do we have any other examples of empires founded by nonviolence and peace? Also, let's not forget the definition of "war" can go beyond military means.  War in terms of hard economic sanctions, threat to stop foreign aid, or ideological war.

The sole concept of building an empire is warfare too, you are charged to control the ideology, preserve your principles, and deliver and exploit the necessary resources for your citizens. (e.g. Iraq War, Philippine-American War)

I am thinking if killing is a mortal sin, then why does God allow war as in the Holy Bible?

If you killed a man during war, is that a mortal sin or what kind of sin?

Some said that if you killed while defending yourself, you are not committing murder.

But what if during war, you are on the offensive?

Can anyone justify this in terms of Biblical philosophy?

Ah, very good point, Leo.
But I want to ask you, isn't there another form of empire? Economic imperialism? Cultural Imperialism? Where military means not need be used?
Per se an example; Confucianism and its exportation into East Asian cultures of Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.

What do you think?

Mr. Ferniz, aside form the religious perspective, there is a tactical and miliary maxim that goes on the lines of, "The best defensive is offensive."
