Morality VS Practicality
« on: January 21, 2009, 04:47:41 AM »
Morality: it has been claimed it's really nothing more then 'learned behavior'; Is it? or is the associated claim of divine inspiration involved as well? What is morality in the 21st century? It's certainly not that necessarily of the 10th. Is it, at it's base, really just simply standards of conduct, intertwined with personal responsibility and identity of purpose, insofar as understanding right vs. wrong?

And for that matter is morality only then superficial? Or is it genuine?

What then can we say vs. practicality... is morality merely a practical vehicle to be used when and how we see it serves our best personal and or group issues, concerns and requirements to maintain a cohesive society? Or is there a deeper concept about identity of nation states less the well worn usage of the term ethnicity or nationalism. Can there be a 'morale yet practical state?
