I beg to disagree with the subject line here. I argue and give my views, may it not be as sophisticated as some intellectuals here, and yet I still gain friends. I may not be popular but that's okay because I got respect from other people. Dapat when we argue, we don't have malice or intent to demean the other person. Healthy lang gud na discussion and sharing of ideas. Lingaw-lingaw lang ba pangpawala ug kamingaw. If some of you here have some good ideas to share, share it in a manner na di pod ma insultohan tawon ang ubang katawhan. When we tell somebody na "hoy, tambok lagi ka!", you may be speaking the truth but is that nice to say?
We often speak about God's love to us and yet sometimes we can't find it in our hearts to be sensitive to other people's feelings.
In a forum people come to discuss. They may not like what I am saying but I did never personally attacked people based on gender, political orientation and ethnicity. Or if ever, I am provoked.
In the first place, we call a FORUM a forum, when it provides an avenue for discussion.
The comment "tambok ka" is a personal attack, and there is no better way to say it. If you will tell a 100 kilo woman that she gained a little weight, then that is more demeaning, sarcastic.
I do not euphemize things, and I say it straight , direct from my brain. And if you take it personally, not my lost.
