Honestly, Giluod Ko...
« on: May 22, 2007, 11:38:40 PM »
Results of the recent election have made me sorrowful lately.

1. In the third district, a young boy who doesn't really live in his province has just been elected congressman, not because of his genuine desire to serve his yet-to-be-familiarized-with Boholanos, but because a father pushed him to wallow in the glory of political power, and they happen to be in the band of the corrupt Arroyo administration.

2. A 21-year-old kid has just been elected Mayor in Inabanga, not because of this kid's exemplary abilities and talents, but because this kid belongs to the incumbent power.

3. Dodong Alcala is back in Panglao as mayor. Do you know who he is? Ask those "wa nagpapalit ug P3,000." (per voter na)

4. Nila Montero lost to Pedro Fuertes in the Panglao vice-mayoralty race. Unthinkable. Nila has done so many good things for Panglao, but the people just forgot those things after they were injected with a megadose of amnesia worth P3,000. (per voter gihapon na).

4. Atty. Nuevas Tirol-Montes, a skilled and genuine lawmaker, was defeated by Toto Veloso, who has been allegedly linked to masiao and mahjong in Tagbilaran. Unthinkable.

5. The 2007 election is over. All is now quiet in Bohol streets and corners. And the P200-million Talibon ghost dam is a screaming insult to the Boholanos because the officials who are behind the scam remain in power.

Honestly, giluod ko...

I was a full-time journalist in our province for more than three years, and I know that those things that I mentioned above would hardly be tackled over the radio or in the newspapers.

Do you know why? Because there is another power that is in control of the press. Its name is money.

You can ask me more about this if you wish media-related confessions to flood in this forum...

This is the saddest story of every election. Imbes nga piniliay, nahimo man hinuong, pinalitay, binantayay ug pinugsanay. Mag-pinatyanay paman gani kung manga pildi. Paeta, naa pa kaha tay pag-asa ani?

Unsa may mahimo anang 21 years old nga mao paman intawoy pagsugod ana ug panikaysikay sa kinabuhi?

Hahayyy  :(

f***! I could now string into my imagination the pieces I know about this man named Mike. He is scaringly bold and brilliant. Mike, I stopped being the person that you are since I learned that politics is a much dirtier word than child prostitution. So don't count on me to comment on issues like this one because it shapes me back into my old fighting form. I'll let you in a lil secret of staying pretty and happy: Talking of multiple orgasms is beautifully dirty!

hmm speaking of elections...sorry i really hate it coz im aware that all leaders are not looking forward to serve the interest of the people  mostly among the hunger elite, but they run only just  for their own sake...I think election is not the solution to solve the economic crisis which our sovereign filipino people had faced today. We must change the system first and build the new one in which we are trap..

yes, yes...luod jud but i am such a hypocrit about everything regarding politics because i haven't exercised my right to suffrage yet although i have always volunteered for namfrel quick counts every chance i get, but, i guess that doesn't really cut it. i didn't vote, i didn't dare will my power as a citizen, i don't have the right to complain...but, yes, luod jud. the inabanga mayor isn't inspiring, and though the congressman is a good friend of my brother, i can argue with him why he doesn't belong to the congress...

sad really, because it is not simply a political thing. it is an intricate and deeply rooted social and economic problem. something which could have been avoided IF the filipinos have been well educated, or even educated enough which we aren't because the government isn't benevolent enough to make quality standard education available and afforadable to all.

Thanks for this info Mike..ni appreciate pa naman ko sa imong gi post about the young Inabangga Mayor coz i thought that he really wanted to serve the people..now I'm backing-off my appreciation..

suss eversince childhood,di na jud ko gnahan ug politics coz a lot of dirty things happening in that field. My maternal family is into politics (though in the local level) mao na aware ko sa mga panghitabo..suss naa ng mga daot2x ug mga vote-buying..grrrrrrrrrrrr

we need to change our political system before we can truly change Pinas into a better place..and we have to start buy getting those corrupt and old politicians from their seats and replace them with leaders of the new generation with a true servant's heart.

Mike,i have a vision that you can be a good leader.so if you have plans to join politics,we will surely vote for you.:)

I agree with you Riva. All problems of our society comes from the major problem :lack of education. If only the filipino people are well educated then they would not tolerate all these crooked things.

How i wish that time will come that education in the Philippines will be free to all.Just like here in Europe, education is free and all students get aid from the government. They have their monthly allowance,so they don't have the reason not to study anymore due to poverty.Though the parents are poor but the children can still go to school with the same privileges as the rich kids in the country.

My mom told me about the election results in Inabanga, truly disappointing gyud. A college kid was declared mayor. But then they say his mom is quite powerful. Naa daw mga goons.

In response to swakee's post about Malu Fernandez, luod gyud siya swaks, daghan siyag fats, ngilngig kaayo siya tan-awon, murag humba nga grabe naglutaw lutaw sa mantika.  ;D

honestly, i don't like what you posted here. you JUDGE some of them wrongly according to your own taste.

I AGREE, I DON'T LIKE HIM ANYWAY.

2. A 21-year-old kid has just been elected Mayor in Inabanga, not because of this kid's exemplary abilities and talents, but because this kid belongs to the incumbent power. AS FAR AS I KNOW JONO IS COMPETENT AS A MAYOR. BEFORE, I DOUBT HIS CAPABILITY. SERVICE IS NOT A MONOPOLY MIKE. IYANG KONTRA DILI PUD COMPETENT. SO, WALAY CHOICE. WE SHOULD NOT GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY OUT FROM JONO TO SERVE THE PEOPLE. FOR ME, WE NEED YOUNG LEADERS... DILI NANG TIGUWANG. IF HE LACKS THE WISDOM, HE COULD ASK HELP FROM THE ELDERS. SA AKOA LANG, GIDOWN MAN GUD NATO ANG US AKA TAWO WHICH IS WRONG.

3. Dodong Alcala is back in Panglao as mayor. Do you know who he is? Ask those "wa nagpapalit ug P3,000." (per voter na) ARE YOU A FRIEND OF DR. DUMALUAN? HE'S ALSO A FRIEND. BUT DO YOU KNOW THE PEOPLE'S CRY? YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THE HEARTACHES OF THE PEOPLE. I DON'T LIKE ALCALA BECAUSE HE LACKS THE INTELLIGENCE AND NOT WORTHY TO BECOME A MAYOR AND  MAYOR DUMALUAN DESERVED TO BE DEFEATED.  PAREHA BAYA SILA DUHA NANGHATAG OG KUWARTA. MAAYO RA PUD NAPILIDI SI MAYOR DUMALUAN TUNGOD KAY DAKO ANG IYANG NAGASTO SA PAGPALIT SA TRO. WALA SIYA KABAWI SA IYANG PAGMAYOR. IMAGINE, HE BOUGHT TROS TO THE TUNE OF MILLIONS. THE ISSUE IS HOW MUCH THEY DISHED OUT DURING THE ELECTIONS BUT THEY BOUGHT VOTES.

4. Nila Montero lost to Pedro Fuertes in the Panglao vice-mayoralty race. Unthinkable. Nila has done so many good things for Panglao, but the people just forgot those things after they were injected with a megadose of amnesia worth P3,000. (per voter gihapon na).  SAME AS TO NUMBER 3. SHE'S JUST CONFIDENT SHE WOULD WIN. AFTER THE ELECTIONS, SHE CHANGED A LOT. ASK PEOPLE FROM PANGLAO WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. BUT OUR FRIENDSHIP REMAINS.

4. Atty. Nuevas Tirol-Montes, a skilled and genuine lawmaker, was defeated by Toto Veloso, who has been allegedly linked to masiao and mahjong in Tagbilaran. Unthinkable. SHE IS NOT  WORTHY TO BECOME THE VICE MAYOR. WE DON'T CHOOSE PEOPLE BASED ON THEIR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT BUT THE HEART. ASK CITY HALL EMPLOYEES WHO SHE IS. ASK THE UB EMPLOYEES, TOO. TOTO'S VICES DILI ISSUE..KUNDI MAKASERVE SIYA SA TAGBILARAN. TOTO IS A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. NUEVAS HAS STILL ISSUES LIKE THE CONTROVERSIAL SAFE HARBOR, ETC... DURING THE ELECTIONS, I SUPPORTED TOTOWITHOUT ASKING FOR RETURN.

5. The 2007 election is over. All is now quiet in Bohol streets and corners. And the P200-million Talibon ghost dam is a screaming insult to the Boholanos because the officials who are behind the scam remain in power.

SOMETIMES, I DON'T LIKE WHEN YOU WRONGLY JUDGE PEOPLE. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM, WHAT THE HELL? IF YOU LIKE THEM, WHAT THE HELL, TOO? NAA BA KOY MAKUHA NILA? NOTHING.

I UNDERSTAND THIS INTERACTIVE WEBSITE GIVES THE PEOPLE THE FREEDOM TO POST THEIR OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS, ETC....

FOR ME, IT'S BETTER TO BE NON-PARTISAN AND LIVE AN ELITE LIFE.

Everybody is free to express what he believes... but pre-judgment on someone whom we don't know deeply is not fair...

In my own opinion, I think our country will never have a chance to cure the cancer "corruption" until we, the people "the masa" will do something about it.

I think the best leader is someone who never buy votes during election. Kinsa bagod ay motoo nga kaning namalit ug buto nga tag 500, 1,000, 3,000 per voter really wants to serve the people??

If they want to serve the people why dont they instead build a free school or free hospital for those millions of pesos that they are using during the election.??

There are many bright and dedicated young people who is fitted to lead the province but they dont have the money...matod pa nila ang mga dato ra ang makakaya molansad kay lagi pinalitay man sa boto. So where is justice here? where is the law that prohibits vote buying?

All candidates who buy votes should be put in prison at once because when they buy votes surely they will corrupt to get back the money used during the election.

Voters who sell their votes should also be put to prison.

Why make a law when no one cares about it?

Cultural revolution is what we need.  And this can be achieve thru education.

Build free schools in college and serve free lunchs in primary schools instead of unnecessary bridges and irrigation dams that never gets finish!!

I commend your thoughs Asianfairy...a man who is on the right frame of mind and has the resources and vision to serve the people must do philantrophic works without a thing in return...

unsaon man ipatuman ang mga balaod nga ang nagbuhat sa balaod mao man say nanguna ug violate? mao dili effective and leadership, it is leadership by example in reverse...

Thanks Sir Junayag .

Nowadays only very few political leaders who are doing their best nga di mangorupt.
I heard Dan Lim is a good one. My opinion is based on what i read and heard from other peoples comments. I have not really meet him personally.

Mao gayod nga kon way Cultural Revolution mahitabo sa ato nasod way pag-asa.

Honestly, I believe that is our only chance...

i've always preaching in the past that we at TB could make a difference on the issue when advocate the noble ideas, work for it in every opportunity until the change will prevail... of course we cannot expect a change to happen overnight... but at least, each of us has tried to tell everyone we encounter to change the lanscape of our political system, and must start in our own yard, Bohol....

Well, a provincial governor's salary is around P30,000 so a town mayor's salary should be somewhere between P20-P30K.  Of course no able, competent, self-respecting executive would exchange that for a position in a private corporation that pays you more than thrice that amount as basic salary plus other perks.
