Genetically engineered I mean not generically lol.Genetically engineered also means nga gidesign ni nga mais nga taas ug yield,mo sustain bisan initon, dili dali mabali and stalk kung hanginon, ang uban sad round up nga bisan sprayhan ni nimo ug pangpatay sa sagbot ang sagbot ray malaya ug mamatay pero ang mais ug soybeans dili.

Farming, one of the noblest professions in God's green earth.

It was the 'act' of farming that brought mankind into the realm of civility.

The profession of my Lolo Ciano. Driver by day, farmer by day, and fisherman during weekends.

The simple life. The good life.

I haven't tried going fishing at night.....and they were all males in our bangka (boat)....I've tried fishing only during daytime with fishing rod and collecting shells at the seashore (panginhas ba)...exciting....I wanna do it again when I'm going to Pinas maybe next year..

My Lolo came from a family of farmers. He, like many Salvos and Salises before him, were farmers from Barrangay Anas in Valencia.

My great grandfather, Ricardo Salvo, who raised my Lolo Ciano and his 7 siblings, was a farmer. And his father and father's father before him were of such noble profession.

My great grandmother, Donisia Salise-Salvo, too, came from a farming family. Many of the Salises in Valencia come from such noble profession. Many have moved away from farming and have become lawyers, municipal policy makers, etc.

But it was the profession of farming that has been the basis of growth.

The same blood that flows in my Lolo Ciano, and his father and grandfather, who, too, were farmers; also flows in my blood.

Perhaps, someday, I will be able to care for my Lolo's basaks. Someday. Maluuy ang Ginoo.

Mike sa state of Illinois ko.I enjoy farming and enjoy all kinds of things related sa farming.I always enjoy mag tan-aw ug tractor show heheh and most of all heritage farming show katong mga pioner pa gyud nga farmer.I have great admiration sa mga Amish people kay until now very traditional sila mag farming no technology, ila gamit kabayo. It;s like heaven kung mo visit mo ug amish country magtan aw nila magwork hard gamit and ila horses.
Ironically farmer daughter ko sa atua ako Tatay mag uuma  and my husband always proud  moingon nga I married the farmer's daughter. The other day nagbungay ko sa ako garden unya akong anak(son he is 5 years old)nakakita nako nag squat ko kay nagbungay or nagguna sa sagbot like sa atua bungay gamit but little shovel to ako gamit for garden then my son said"Mom what are you doing?I said I am pulling the weeds. Then he tell me you know what Mom that took you so much work we have hoe you can use it ,its much easier for you.So I tell him that this is how we do it in philippines Matt.I'm kinda used of doing this and I like this better than the hoe and the garden tractor.I can tell his face gleam with pride and understanding that he know I am from different culture and different background .Not only I am telling him the culture thing but teaching him the value of hard work and patience.I know someday ako anak magbungay pud sa iya garden just like I do kay nakalearn baya ko bungay nga nagtan-aw ra sa ako parents. He gonna be a future farmer too.Ask him what he wanna be when he grow up he will answer you I wanna be a farmer.
