A senior Iranian lawmaker said that a Syrian parliamentary delegation will visit Tehran for diplomatic talks, Press TV reported Saturday.
Head of Iran's Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that the Syrian delegation is scheduled to arrive in Tehran on Sept. 23, according to the report.
The 10-member Syrian diplomatic group will meet with Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and a number of other high-ranking Iranian officials, Boroujerdi was quoted as saying.
On Aug. 26, Boroujerdi said that his country stands against any foreign intervention in Syria.
The Iranian lawmaker unleashed scathing criticism on the United States and its regional allies and accused them of not supporting a political solution to the Syrian crisis but rather pushing militarization of the crisis.
