if I am not mistaken, Cel, the dress itself is made of deerskin adorned with porcupine quills and glass beads.

The had lenape, delaware, iroquois, navajo, aztec, inca etc. You know, its wierd but some of them even look Filipino. But they are very good people, luuy kaayo ilang historidad diri sa north america.

You are correct, Dong!  In fact, smiffy's father who is an authentic navajo man, looks like my Grandma's son.  Yes, he blends well with the Pinoys except that he doesn't eat much of Pinoy food.  He does eat pansit and bistik. :)

Bitaw, they are kind people.

Native Americans are more closer to us Filipinos than we think, because they are asiatic peoples, 'te. They are descendents of Siberian nomadic people that crossed the bering strait some 20,000 years ago. The first of their kind are the Indians of South America, who have physical phenotype that are similar to that of East Asians, and South East Asians. They are part of the Greater Mongoloid Race, to which the Filipino is part of that family.

Some illustration:

Incan Indian boy (populate most of Peru, Columbia and have mingled with the Spaniards to form the 'Mestizo Latino' of South America)

Native Sioux Indian; these were nomadic hunters and gatherers that populated most of central and midwestern United States

Inuit Woman (Eskimo); these are what native americans looked like before their physical phenotypes evolved to change in according to their environment. As they migrated south, to the jungles of south america, they grew shorter, and developed 'curly' hair as an adaptation to check the heat from the sun; and height decreased due to the foliage of the trees. The native indians of the woodland United States grew bigger due to the cool and temperate climate. The natives of alaska, canada, and greenland retained the original mongoloid features, primarily the prominent eye fold, as an adaptation to harsh and cold climate as well as to protect the eyes form snow storms etc.

Compare these to Mongoloids of East Asia; very similar in phenotype.

Mongol woman and mongol man

Native Siberian woman (this is the same racial stock that the native americans descended from; Asians)

What a beautiful regalia she is wearing, I can only imagine the hours it took to construct her outfit.

They are a proud and old people.

Have you seen the documentary "Journey of Man" in the Nat Geo? It was pretty much explained.

Yes, we Asians and the american indians have a lot in common in terms of facial features. Because we share a common "DNA marker" taken from the Y Chromosome which is passed down from your father to you and if you are a male, you will pass the same DNA to your children. Your mother will not pass a Y Chromosome to you because she is a female, she will pass the Monocrondial DNA (correct me if the spelling is wrong).

Y Chromosome DNA are categorized into Markers according to patterns, i.e. Caucasians, Asians, Centralasians, African, Indians have various patterns.

During Ice age, humans from central asia started migrating east. Some split downwards and some continued to reach Alaska. During that time, the sea was frozen that served as a bridge to Canada.

So we are the ones who are afraid of cold and migrated south and they are the brave who continued the journey to the east until they reached Canada.

The timeframe of this theory is only 10,000 years. The proof is found in our blood, the DNA.

Their genetic make-up is very close to us.

BTW, yeah i love the craftmanship of that shirt. That is sheepskin leather, meaning very soft, and its decorations with that metallic buttons, where at that times silversmith or silvercraft was rare...that made that shirt very unique...

i could wear that to a party with some   BLINGS! ;D  ;D  ;D

The first song I can remember crying to was during a class film strip when it had shown how poor my tribe was and when it was at war.

Cherokees were not considered rich Indians like other types but they are more for peace and simplier minded but elegant in their own way.

The song went something like this; He shot the whole Cherooke nation and took his own life with justificatio..Cherokee people cherokee tribe so proud to live ans so proud to die......etc.

Late 1960's I walked in a peace parade protesting about war and the hirikrishina, we drank swigs off of jugs of apple wine and we just had a blast!

Cool Pressy, so have you attended the First Woodstock Concert. I'm a great fan of Peter Paul and Mary. I was able to grasp that Hippie era during my childhood, where people that time have liberal minds. They sort of experiment all kinds of stuff that gives them a short cut to heaven. Music was great and has deep meaning. People are experimenting some forms of Yoga that would give them the power of levitation.

My late Manang Maming told me that I looked like one of the "Bitols".

My late Manang Maming told me that I looked like one of the "Bitols".

hahahahhahaha unsa man pud imong paborit song? ;D
