While a pair of new high heels can always make a woman instantly feel good and sexy about herself, they can sometimes be irritating and painful especially after using them for hours or dancing in them – when our feet are already full of blisters and we can’t almost feel our soles. It’s also the time when we badly want to get rid of them and slip into comfy shoes.
Two shoe companies in England have responded to this dilemma in 2009 by installing vending machines with such comfy shoes for women to slip into. And where else but in nightclubs!
Rollasole and afterheels both sell rollable flats that come in funky colors and offer extra comfort. Anyone can just ditch the high heels and switch to flats for 5 pounds. The shoes also come with duffel bags which can be used to carry the painful stilettos home.
But one thing sets apart the two brilliant companies. While Rollasoles come in four colors – Hi Ho Silver, Gold Digger, and Back to Black and Pink – afterheels offers shoes that are more eco-friendly.

The body of the shoe is made from natural, sustainable materials which biodegrade in the same time as an oak leaf. The polyproylene (PP) insole is fully recyclable where local facilities allow.
The duffle bag is currently made from a low density polyethylene (LDPE) which is also recyclable where local facilities allow.
But shoes like this aren’t only offered in nightclubs. Shoe company Asics, which also sells shoes in their stores, has also ventured to this idea through their roving vending machines with comfy sneakers – perfect for walking the long pedestrians in the city.
