The US Navy has successfuly recovered the wreckage of the F-35C which had suffered a ramp strike while attempting to land on the USS Carl Vinson in the South China Sea.
The F-35C, operated by VFA-147 Strike Fighter Squadron, was recovered from a depth of 12.400 feet onboard a commercial offshore vessel.
This is the third F-35 lost at sea, and in all cases, the wreckage has been recovered, out of fear that rival powers gain access to the aircraft and gain intelligence on its technologies.
