In a survey among Japanese females aged 15 to 22, "hostessing" was chosen as the No. 9 profession most aspired to, outstripping civil servants and nursing.
Other interesting facts gathered from a survey by cultural studies institute:
20% of female high school students are interested to work as hostesses
21% of university students are interested to work as hostesses
33% of career women are interested to work as hostesses
30% of professional models moonlight as cabaret hostesses
