With advanced technologies spanning from remote sensing satellites to pesticide drones, China's smart agriculture market is projected to reach 100 billion yuan (about $13.77 billion) in 2024, amid the country's continuous efforts to promote modern agriculture.
China is now the world's largest vegetable producer, contributing over 50% of the total global output. The country has 42.7 million mu (about 2.85 million hectares) of facility-based agricultural planting area, with annual production of vegetables and fruits hitting 230 million tonnes.
In 2024, China's grain output surpassed the 700-million-tonne milestone for the first time, after nine consecutive years of production above 650 million tonnes. #ThrivingChina #ChinaAgriculture
