That's relatively a handsome pay, Manong Lindy!

My cousin who is a seaman, his salary is $550 a month at this current time.  Well, free ang board and lodging, I suppose, sa barko with matching kiling-kiling dyutay! ;D

He worked for a German company, Mr. Lindy.
Bitaw ingoon si dad that most of the manual workers kono that worked for him were Thailanders.
One thing that he told me kono that ug mo work na sila, they always put facial covers sa ilang nawong, mo keep jud na sila clean kono. Mo call sila sa ahong  Dad, "Supah, Supah' for supervisor, kai dili bitaw sila maka ingoon ug "SupeRr". Its funny kai my dad still knows some basic Thai phrases like "Sawadekaa," "oneepanhoi" LOL

Ma lingaw man ko whenever he tells me stories of his experiences didto.

Chinese are overcompeting. Pero they are all about quantity, dili quality.

Take for example, the physicians and nurses in the US and Canada that are of Filipino background are preferred by patients. Over Indian, Arab, Chinese, even white physicians.

That is the difference. Filipino is always associated with 'Quality'.

Bitaw, Mr. Lindy.

When I was doing my summer internship at the Cleveland Clinic, i shadowed an orthopedic surgeon around the floor for 2 weeks. We're good friends, actually. And the first time I met him, he shook my hands and asked if I was Filipino. I acquiesced and told him I was Filipino, and he said, "Great, we need more Filipino docs." I toured around the floor, form ICU, OR, ER, PCU with him and I tell you, with my own eyes, i was rotating in the Cleveland Clinic, the 3rd largest medical clinic in the United States. Most of the nursing staff were Filipino. I knew they were there even before seeing them because of their voices/accents.

There are also alot of Filipino doctors, mostly though they are concentrated in GI, ER, FM, Cardio and GenSurg.

There was one Filipino Neurosurgeon who I talked to in that internship. Very short siya, probably 5'2, he looks very humble and docile, pero when he talks, his voice is thunder-esque. You knew this guy was intelligent, and knew what he was talking about. Filipinos are very concrete jud when they do something. And they mean business.

Ask Ate Belle, she's an R.N. She's probably stricta kaayo in the work place.

'te it was a summer internship with the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine this Summer 2007. It was a pre-professional internship as I was admitted to the DPM program, pero I declined my decision. The program I was admitted would have made me into a Podiatric Physician, pero, I am looking towards vascular orientation, not limited to the legs and foot.

Yes, 'te. The Medical Campus is HUGE.

I was one of 8 other internees, the 3rd year med students and residents basically showed us around their daily routines; ways to ask questions, taking history of patients, weighing them, BP, and just showing around. All 8 of us were admitted to the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine program; the college just wanted to show off what it offered. I enjoyed rotating, pero, we were limited mostly to foot, and ankle care. (foot doctor man nang Podiatrist). I really enjoyed observing surgery tho, 'te. I was in there with Dr. Katz in removing a gangrene ankle from a patient; its naa sila technique to remove the ankle.

One thing tho was that we were there for 12 hours on our feet, 'te. From 8 Am till 8 Pm. Most of the time I talked to the Filipina nurses, mo share sila ilang food with us, LOL.

Dong duol ra man diri ang Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame?

di bah? pila lang ka blocks away?

My banana's youngest daughter was admitted there last March, kay naa shay COPD (that's what our Dr's said)

and you know when we get there? nagkajamukat ang reading sa heart kay diay tired na kaajo ang heart so inong ang doctor to be ready for heart transplant...after 30 minutes they found out that my "step daughtah" has a rare disease and that is called PPH-Primary Pulmunary Hypertension. Sus Dodong, we really thought she cant make it kay we thought the heart was really bad, indeed, was already bad agi diay sa overworked sa PPH.

Dodong the medication was very tricky, Elizabeth (her name) has carried a machine, a pump that is connected directly to her heart fo supply the medicine every how many minutes...this time the dosage was reduced and she was doing very good.

Mao nga saludo jud ko sa CC Dong...and gi FYI nako ni nimo so you will know nga this disease has existed. We thought that if we took her to Ann Arbor Med basi ma mis diagnosed sha...

Yes, 'te it is very close to it.

Us interns went there during our time off from the hospital; guapa kaayo didto  kai Lake Erie is in the backgorund bitaw. The drive from Cleveland Clinic to the Bay area is about 15-20 minutes sigoro?

The interns, lol.

Us taking a break from doing rounds; I am taking the picture. The guy in the middle is my buddy Tom. He's matriculating as a Podiatry Student this fall 2008 actually--to Temple University

My fellow interns outside of the Cleveland Clinic
