Bitaw, Mr. Lindy.
When I was doing my summer internship at the Cleveland Clinic, i shadowed an orthopedic surgeon around the floor for 2 weeks. We're good friends, actually. And the first time I met him, he shook my hands and asked if I was Filipino. I acquiesced and told him I was Filipino, and he said, "Great, we need more Filipino docs." I toured around the floor, form ICU, OR, ER, PCU with him and I tell you, with my own eyes, i was rotating in the Cleveland Clinic, the 3rd largest medical clinic in the United States. Most of the nursing staff were Filipino. I knew they were there even before seeing them because of their voices/accents.
There are also alot of Filipino doctors, mostly though they are concentrated in GI, ER, FM, Cardio and GenSurg.
There was one Filipino Neurosurgeon who I talked to in that internship. Very short siya, probably 5'2, he looks very humble and docile, pero when he talks, his voice is thunder-esque. You knew this guy was intelligent, and knew what he was talking about. Filipinos are very concrete jud when they do something. And they mean business.
Ask Ate Belle, she's an R.N. She's probably stricta kaayo in the work place.
