In a new CSIS Brief based on conversations with representatives from over a dozen regional governments in the first quarter of 2022, the CSIS Economics Program summarizes Indo-Pacific perspectives on the IPEF and offers suggestions for the U.S. government to bolster its chances of securing regional buy-in.
"If U.S. policymakers can address regional questions and critiques related to inclusivity, form, function, benefits, and durability, then the IPEF has a real chance at securing buy-in from the region and advancing U.S. economic and strategic interests in the world’s most critical economic region."
