The trial has opened in France of a man accused of being among the country's worst serial killers in decades.

Michel Fourniret, 65, is charged with murdering seven girls and women in France and Belgium. He is also charged with raping some of them.

His wife, accused of helping lure women into a car, is separately charged with complicity in murder and kidnapping.

Mr Fourniret, dubbed the "Ogre of the Ardennes", is accused of carrying out the murders between 1987 and 2001.

The charges against Mr Fourniret relate to six murders in France and one in Belgium. His alleged victims ranged in age between 12 and 22 years.

'Confessions'

Mr Fourniret appeared in court in the northern French town of Charleville-Mezieres alongside his wife, Monique Olivier.

When the judge asked him to identify himself, he held up a piece of paper on which was written: "My lips are sealed if there is no closed-door hearing."

This man is not only obnoxious, but stubborn despite his crimes. His psychological and psychosomatic iniquities is illustrative of a psychotic individual. He dares to tell the judge that he will keep his lips sealed? Who is he to demand anything?

May the cleansing fires of  the pit be as equal to the crimes and anguish he gave to the women he murdered and robbed the precious gift of life. I pray that the souls of the innocents he wolfishly murdered for his own sick and sadistic reasons, are at peace.

Too bad!  He isn't in control anymore of the court so the judge should do within his/her power.  KSP lang gihapon sya!

And what was his wife doing beside him?  Support?   

If he did this in the times of Marcos and if he did this in the Philippines, he would have been given a complimentary firing squad.

Or, if he did this in Davao City, he's long been gone!  He couldn't have had terrorized people that many!
