6.0-magnitude quake hits 83km WNW of Kirakira, Solomon Islands -- USGS

HONG KONG, Dec. 18 (PNA/Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted 83km WNW of Kirakira, Solomon Islands at 05:46:25 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 39.11 km, was initially determined to be at 10.2273 degrees south latitude and 161.1952 degrees east longitude. (PNA/Xinhua)
