« on: September 03, 2007, 12:34:05 PM »
1.      The first interview question in most of the organization is they ask about you.

2.      The other interview question is why you want to change the job.

3.      Next interview question is they ask about your strengths and weaknesses.

4.      They ask about your special technical skills.

5.      They ask where you see yourself in next 5 and 10 year.

6.      The other interview question is they ask about your family members.

I would rather answer the No. 5 question..... If I will be hired, I want to replace you in that chair where you are now earlier than in 5  yrs.

Hi Jules!

You must have to be wise (kunohay)....had experienced before applying as a Secretary in the Phils. (nahilis na lang ahong sapatos binalik-balik) ...The  manager asked me:

Miss, do you have already experienced in this kind of job?  I answered to him...you had just read in my application form since when I graduated and how did you come to ask me that question.  How could I have an experience if nobody hires me? And what is your plan if you will get the job?  I answered the same as cited-above.

Naka suway na jud ko, Ms Happy...mao na leksyon na jud ko.

Right after I graduated, I applied for a medrep job with Glaxxo-SmithKline in Cagayan de Oro.

We were put through a number of tests and interviews, from the hundreds of applicants we were narrowed down to 10 prospective employees.

For the final interview, the big boss came to CDO from Mla and set up individual interviews with the 10 of us, unya duha ra ming girls nahabilin. I really wanted that job bad. On the big day though, I did the unthinkable. I was fifteen minutes late!

I didn't get the job, of course. Biggest heartbreak of my "career"...career kuno!

 :)

how i answered my interview.
HR: working in a call center is not an easy job you know.
ME: i know this is not an easy work but i am so into computers (tech support) and irate people (my sisters). it's like when u love your             work, you will enjoy what you are doing no matter how hard it is. it's like a dream job.
HR: tell me you dream job:
ME: a job where i love the work, like the people and most especially a job where the boss is fair and competitive..
HR: what bout the compensation? assuming you will receive 6ooo/month.
ME: FOR REAL?
HR: yes. even lower.
ME: it's ok.. money is always important but WORK is the MOST important.
HR: how do you see yourself 5 years from now
ME: working in a company with a higher position. where working is synonymous to having fun.

so yun.. so far. 1 year and 5 months nako dre.. with 2memos hahaha (late)

 :)

I was in Davao City, fresh from college when I submitted my application to then Northern Mindanao Development Bank which was later bought by Equitable PCIB.  The Head Office was in Cagayan de Oro so I went there for the interview.  My first job interview. It was so daunting.  The office was huge and beautiful and the aircon was so, so cold I could hardly talk!  I was already interviewed by all the Top Management except for the President because he was in Manila for a Board Meeting.  I waited for another day.

Anyway, the Vice President in his interview to me asked me what if I got the job and somebody offers me a job in Davao.  Would I take the job in Davao?  Nah, naive and honest as I was, I said, Yes.  We became friends later but he told me I failed in that interview.  Good thing the rest of the top management gave me their okay.

Then came the big boss.  I was directed to the Office of the Managing Director which was also the President.  The room was even colder or maybe I was just so nervous.  First he asked me, what was my weakness and I answered right away this:  My weakness is eating peanuts! hahahahahhaha  Later I swear I could kick myself with my silly answer!  Then he asked me, who is your best friend and why? Whew, I didn't have a bestfriend then so I said, God is my bestfriend because wherever I go, whatever I do, however I feel, he is just right there for me.  He looked at me like he wanted to smile but he stifled it.  Then he said, thank you for dropping by!  I was thinking to myself, what do you mean dropping by?  I travelled all the way from Davao City, all 8 hours of bumpy road and that's dropping by? hahahah  Anyway, I got the job. And worked their for good 10 years!

hahaha mao jud,. pro ate graz, lisud man demand.. or kani nalang..when man pwede mo mention jud ug figures?

Dili man na ga demand Bem kay nag ask man kaha unsay gi expect na sweldo. The interviewer should tell you upfront pila ang sweldo, and if dili, ask them jud.  They know man you work for the money.  If gamay ra sweldo, ask pod dayon how regular is the salary increase and on what basis.  Is it longevity or performance.  Maayo na klaro daan.  But I think naa pod na sa employee handbook dayon ihatag sa inyo but maayo na ma ask na daan sa interview pod.

Thats a good quality you have, Kiams, in that you are able to stay focused and patient despite the hassles of the profession you are in. I have friends who graduated last year and are Financial Analysts working in the Boston area. My former room mate of 2 years works in Prudential Life and says the work is extreme, he's part of a group of 4 people and are responsible for preparing hundreds of client info, economic history and the like, and file it every week. Its insane the amount of hours they work, though its slightly a different field you work in, nonetheless I can't even begin to imagine how stressed you guys must be. I know that he works crazy hours as well and has been drinking alot because of it, which I'm quite concerned because  he never drank that much whenever he was still in college.

Keep up your work ethic, I admire that about individuals.

Ah thats not good. Excessive drinking and smoking is never healthy, there are other ways to deal with stress instead of smoking and drinking. I know its easier to say than to act on it, but there are other options. For one, working out as in jogging and weight lifting. Working out constantly as in once a day or at least 3 times a week is an effective way to reduce stress and also strengthen the cardiovascular and thoracic; it gives a healthy and natural 'high'. The central nervous system gives of endorphins a.k.a natural stimulants to those who partake in physical activity, the more you work out, the higher the endorphin excretion. Healthier pa in that it is a healthy 'addiction' as aside from the man-made addictions of smoking and drinking, which not only causes massive damage to the neural system. But also damages the endocrinal visceris: liver damage, dieuretic activity, H2O imbalance/dehydration. As well as debilitate the respiratory: massive tar contaminants in the alveoli of the lungs, and nicotine shoots. Who really wants mucal activity? Who wants to cough that out on a regular basis? And the smell is rather ghastly. IMHO

Everything should be in moderation.

Greetings Mr. Ayag,

I will definitely contact Dr. Escota as soon as I have the chance. Congratulations to him getting into a residency in Chicago, no doubt, it is a great hospital site. Mr. Ayag, I will probably see him soon as we do most of our clinical rotations in Family Medicine and General Surgery in the Ohio region, mostly in teaching hospitals in Chicago. When I begin my clinical rotations, I will definitely try to get in contact with Dr. Escota, maybe have coffee with him.

I am greatly thankful for all your help, Mr. Ayag,
Always,
Bran

Exactly, that is what my former room mate did when he applied for a Financial Analyst position for Prudential Life. He interned there 2 years back and was employed for the summer making 4k a month. When he applied for the position of FA1, he told the employer what he was paid as a student intern, and then asked them point blank if it will be increased. He expected a salary of about 45-50k starting (in relation to how much he was paid as an intern). Prudential Life offered him a position for 60 k with a 15k sign on bonus as a first year Financial Analyst. May I remind you that my friend only has a B.A in economics. The company told him that if you stay loyal to the company for 5 years, they will send him to get his MBA; all expenses paid. The median salary range for a Financial Analyst with an MBA is around 120-200k.

Point of the story: tell the truth, don't lower your standards.

downside : ang bangko naa ga base sa basic pay.haha!

inspirational side: company's aim is to be competitive sa market and at least. balance ra ang expenses sa profits. d mu demand sa amo ug tough metrics..nor higher payments from company clients. = stability. wew` so I'll stay. haha!

This is true and related to this kining interview mao kini ang gitawag ug pag determine sa imong SKA (Skills, Knowledge and Attitude). Pwede nila madetermine imo skills and knowledge through exams and evaluation pero ang pinakalisod ang attitude test.

Ang kanang makita usually are the skills and knowledge but the attitude is sometimes not visible during the candidate's interview.  Pero kitang mga bol-anon mo excel man jud ta bisag asa busa daghan ganahan nato kay motrabajo ug pasensyoso busa daghan ni asinso  (asin ug soka  j/k   ;D  )  Hehe.

google.com
