The Search Committee for THE OUTSTANDING BOHOLANOS AROUND THE WORLD (TOBAW) 2009 is now accepting nominations.

Categories of Awards

* Agriculture
* Arts/Performing Arts
* Business
* Education
* Engineering
* Law
* Journalism/Communication/Literature
* Military Service
* Public Service/Community Development
* Science/Medicine

Qualifying Criteria

1. Nominees must be native-born Boholanos or sons/daughters of Boholano parents or parent, regardless of their place of birth or present nationality;

2. Nominees must have excelled in their chosen fields of endeavor and must have engaged in community and humanitarian work that has significantly contributed to the improvement of the community;

3. Nominees must have demonstrated leadership in their profession and in their community and humanitarian involvement; and

4. Nominees must indicate willingness to attend personally the awards ceremony, if selected.

Sponsored by: Tigum Bol-ann sa Tibuok Kalibutan and the First Consolidated Bank with the cooperation of the Provincial Government of Bohol, Diocese of Tagbilaran, Bohol chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bohol Chronicle and Radio Station DYRD.

Deadline for Submission of Nomination: MARCH 31, 2009

Awarding Ceremony will be during the 2009 TBTK in Bohol.

Only excellence in the field of Surgery can lead to membership.

It is not everyday that a surgeon is admitted into the ACS; not to mention a Boholano Surgeon!

Good idea Grace. I will ask Glen Hubahib. However, there is already a post in Tubag Bohol talking about Glen Hubahib, where his exceptional achievements were featured. I guess that was an interview with Loy Palapos, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the link on Atty. Glenn. We used to work in The Varsitarian together. I was a freshman and he was already a senior student and one of the section editors, if not the associate editor of the student paper.

Atty. Delaguna, I still couldn't pm you. Do you have a regular email or TB email addies where I can email you?

Also, I had the pleasure of meeting Doctors Tony and Nenita Daquipa. I didn't even know Dr. Tony Daquipa was a TOBAW awardee in 2006 until I read an old article in Bohol Chronicle. Both of them are so nice. I will be seeing them next week kay mag inato party mi with Law-oy as our important menu. Anyway, I know his wife is also as active in community service as Dr. Tony Daquipa. Is it possible to also nominate Dr. Nenita Daquipa or is there a rule against nominating a spouse of a former awardee? Just asking.
