A Boholana, Laurianne Teodoro Uy, graduated recently with honors from the College of Letters and Science at the University of California Berkeley in the USA.
The University of California Berkeley is the oldest of the University of California campuses and serves as the flagship of the University of California system.
Uy obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history. She received additional honors for her thesis, bestowed very selectively for excellence in honors thesis. Her thesis has since been used as a student textbook.
Laurianne finished high school at the Immaculate Concepcion Academy in Greenhills, San Juan City, where she received the Alfonso Yuchingco Award.
Uy is the daughter of Engr. Joven Uy and Lorna Teodoro Uy and the granddaughter of the late Alfonso Uy and Paz Tan Uy. (The Bohol Chronicle, July 8, 2007)
