Hon. Concepcion O. Lim
Third Congressional District, Bohol Board Member
Before Dr. Concepcion O. Lim plunged into the labyrinth of politics, she was already an
achiever in her own right.
When a visionary move, she was able to establish a hospital in her hometown of Valencia,
Bohol after carving a name in the practice of medicine by delivering health services to countless Valenciahanons, her being a Doctor of Medicine by profession.
As a young girl then, she nurtured a lofty dream of obtaining a career that will contribute to
the delivery of basic services to the people.
After high school, she enrolled herself with the famed San Juan de Letran in Manila for her preparatory course.
To follow through her high end educational pursuit, she entered in the University of Sto,
Tomas where she earned a Bachelor of Medicine Degree.
While practicing her profession after passing the board examination, she arrived the lure of
the green bucks earning from jobs abroad, which tried to waylay her ambition and objective
to serve the people of Valencia.
Through hard work, assiduousness, focus and determination, she was able to establish a hospital, which until now continues to serve not only the people from Valencia but also from
the neighboring areas.
Her years of taking good care of the sick, the old and the children as a medical practitioner,
had honed and developed her civic mindedness.
With the endorsement, support and clamor from fellow Valenciahanons and her family, she entered politics in 1988 and won handily as the municipal Mayor of Valencia, Bohol.
The broadened spectrum of delivering the basic services as a politician did not waver her commitment and resolve to serve the people, instead, it encouraged and emboldened her,
all the more, to indulge in politics which ran three terms as Valencia’s Chief Executive.
Because serving the people knows no boundaries, she expanded her jurisdiction throughout
the country when she was elected as the National Treasurer of the League of Municipalities.
Ten years after she became the Mayor of Valencia, she aspired and elected as one of the Provincial Board Members, representing the Third District of Bohol.
At the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, she chairs the Committee on Health & Public Sanitation
and Social Services and presently, she is the Vice President for the Visayas of the Provincial Board Member’s League of the Philippines (PBMLP).
Despite the ever-increasing demand for public service, Inday Conching continues to pursue
her commitments as a lifetime member of the Philippine Medical Society and the Philippine Hospital Association and as President of the Philippine Hospital Association, Bohol Chapter.
She is also holding at the same time, the positions as Director and National Treasurer of
the Philippine Hospital Association.
