Godfrey, Ill (AP) -- A southwestern Illinois school bus driver has been suspended after a kindergartner, who wrongly got on her bus, was dropped off more than five miles from his home.
Five-year-old Jordan Nance of Godfrey was reunited with his mother within an hour Friday after a concerned parent called a telephone number on the North Elementary School student's identification tag.
Chris Norman is the Alton School District's financial services chief, and he says the driver has been suspended.
Norman says the bus driver was supposed to check the boy's tag when he got on and off the bus to make sure he was supposed to be riding it and was being left at the right spot.
The boy's mother says her son no longer wants to ride the bus. -
