is he wholly transexualized mike? and if he already is, i hope he went through the proper steps of sexual reassignment. in the states, it costs more than 30000 usd for reassignment and the procedure is so tedious! the patient has to go through a long psychology consultation, hormone therapy and socialization. in thailand, it only cost a little over a 1000 usd, maybe a bit more but totally cheaper compared to the us. here in japan, a pair of 300 g silicones cost 53,000 yen, the price of an ipod!
i have long been interested in transexualism phenomenon and in fact had done some research about it in different culture. interestingly, i found out (which could be wrong) that western transexuals seek sexual reassignment primarily to adhere to what they perceive,believe to be their true sexuality whereas eastern transexuals, pinoys,thais and indians, do so not so much because as a philosophical sense of the true self but also, and equally, because they will earn more.
i have friends here in japan who are transexuals and who work in a transexuals club. they are treated poorly by the club's owner, the customers and sometimes by their boyfriends. it saddens me to think that they have to go through all these because they have to feed their families back home and at the same time, to act out their sense of womanhood.
