Sex Good For Mind, Body
Doctors Report Link Between Love, Health

Time magazine is heating up newsstands this week with a sexy cover story and interesting articles inside about how sex is good for the mind and body.
Doctors said there are some links between love and health. Researchers said the benefits of sex include greater longevity, decreased risk of heart disease, weight loss, and pain relief.
Researchers said the reason for some of these benefits is the hormone called oxytocin. Oxytocin, which controls uterine muscles during childbirth, goes up five times higher during orgasm.
The hormone can possibly fight depression and anxiety, boost the immune system, fight cancer and it acts as a type of "rehealer" by helping injuries to heal faster.
Studies show sex is also exercise that burns about 200 calories -- like running for 30 minutes. But doctors say they don't really know if sex is equal to walking a mile -- that kind of research hasn't been done.
