A corporation from Taiwan has emerged as the winning bidder for the historic Shohei Ohtani 50th home run ball, which sold for a record-breaking $4,392,000 at auction.


This remarkable sale, announced by Goldin Auctions CEO Ken Goldin, marks the highest price ever paid for a baseball, surpassing the previous record of $3.05 million set in 1999 for Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball.


The auction attracted competitive bids from multiple countries, including Japan, where Ohtani is a national hero.


Despite the fierce competition, the Taiwanese corporation ultimately secured the prized baseball, demonstrating their passion for both baseball and Ohtani himself.


The identity of the winning bidder will be revealed in person when they pick up the ball after the conclusion of the World Series.


Legal disputes surrounding the ball's original ownership continue to unfold, but all parties have agreed to allow the auction proceeds to be distributed once a court ruling is made.
