My deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families of our fallen soldiers and civilians, who were supposed to report to their battalions to perform their mission, but unfortunately figured in a tragic accident in Patikul, Sulu. We mourn together with the families they left behind for this tragic loss of lives.
As government officials, we have the moral responsibility to look after the affected families. As a legislator and a Colonel in the Philippine Air Force (Reserve), I will assure that equal assistance will be extended to the civilians and their families who have died or who were injured at the crash site. Under RA 6963, families of deceased or permanently incapacitated soldiers should receive special financial assistance for the next six months after the personnel’s death or incapacity.
Our soldiers are firmly committed to their duty to protect the country and our citizens. Let us all provide the necessary government support for the lives lost, those who were injured, and those families left behind.
