Exit Visa in Saudi Arabia

(1/1)

MikeLigalig.com:
An employer of Overseas Filipino workers who are housed in government-run shelters in Saudi Arabia is cooperating with the Philippine government in facilitating the issuance of the exit visas so the workers can return to Manila at the soonest possible time, a Malacanang official said on Tuesday

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz reported that the employer of the OFWs staying at government-run shelters has assured the Philippine government of full cooperation to fast-track the issuance of exit visas of the workers, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said during the regular press briefing in Malacanang on Tuesday.

"We have good news, the employer has promised to coordinate with our labor attache in Jeddah to be able to process the exit visas of the OFWs," Valte said.

Valte noted that the process for the issuance of exit visas of 10 of the 82 OFWs who are currently in the government-run shelters have already begun.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the concerned embassies in Jeddah and Dubai have been attending to the needs of the OFWs who are staying at the shelters.

The Philippine government is fast-tracking the review and processing of cases involving OFWs so that they can secure the needed exit visas. Previously, the issuance of the exit visas of most of the OFWs was delayed because of the absence of certain documents to be issued by their employers. - pna.gov.ph
