Buwad, The US Navy as well as its Nato allies and international parties have been patrolling the Gulf of Aden to assess the piracy in the region.

1 in 10 of international merchant ships are hijacked in the volatile region of East Africa. The US Navy works closely with its NATO allies (namely UK) in monitoring the region. Other countries have come to aid the US Navy in the battle to curve piracy activities; nations like India and China have sent their own navies to protect their respective merchant marine ships as well.

rise and fall sa world power is embedded in mankind history. i think US naval power or US power is in decline due to lack of resources(daming utang ng gobyerno). its the dowbfall turn of the american power. you better watch the sleeping giant! china!

Buwad, let us be more realistic in analysis. The combined navies of the world does not even equal the United States Navy. In terms of tonnage and in terms of fire power. The United States' Navy is centered on 18 Super aircraft carriers and surrounding carrier task force ships that can react and respond to any imminent global crisis anywhere around the world within mere hours.

China does not even have an aircraft carrier or a blue water navy. How can it contend with that of the United States?

Actually, Buwad, US Naval Power is on the rise. At this moment, 2 more Super Aircraft carriers are under construction. And will augment the United States Navy to meet the challenges of the 21st century in the war against Terrorism, Fighting Piracy, and potential threats to American Strategic Interests and its Allies.

This is is testament to American solidarity in Asia-Pacific:

A contingent of the US 7th Fleet. The 7th fleet occasionally makes sorties to Philippines.

This is what keeps China away from Philippines.

what do you think im not realistic?

the reality is US power is declining and your afraid of terorist that in a point in time will stike america. they are already there sleeping waiting for the right time to strike and creeping in your backyards.

dili man gani ma repair ang bumagsak na bridge sa US happened in washington dc area. kos it mean na wa nay kwarta ang US. dating ang panahon magutom mo diha kay hurot ang kwarta sa maintenance sa military equipment. plus the climate change that will surely affect your output!

Thats true, Buwad, I do agree that the size of the national debt is increasing. But national debt has nothing to do with national security. Because the American credit is still strong.

Buwad, the reason why the United States maintains a forward policy is to maintain the security in the global arena. And it was the United States' military single handedness that has prevented another terrorist attack like 911 from happening.

This has led the development of multi-faceted policies in dealing with terrorist groups; the United States Navy works cooperatively with other navies in dealing with the common threat. My friend.

You're right about the debt, my friend, considering the economic situation the United States is in.

HOWEVER, the policy the United States maintains is blanket security. Even in times of economic woes, the United States Military works in overdrive to protect the United States from those who would seek to harm it and its people. From within and from without.

this is another reality here in manila.

sauna, kon dunay mga americano magsunodsunod ang mga bata lalo na at post war era at sikat sila tan-awon. ang american ambassador who is highly respected is like a rockstar during his presence in a national program aired on tv.

karon, i was there during the basketball  final game in araneta ctr. amb. kenny was there also and was introduced by the game organizer. walang reaction ang mga tawo sa presensya niya. malamig ang pag tangap only a handfull clap their hands in welcoming her, including me kay naluoy ko sa US ambassador nga bisita.

the reality is amaricans are not so well loved now here in Manila compared before. kong ngano, daghan ng rason, nationalistic and leftist sentiments ug uban pa!

That is interesting observation on your part, Buwad. The American people and myself included will not deny that the world's opinion of the United States has changed in the last 8 years; can it be due to unilateralism ? An unpopular war? Who knows. Its their view. Its up to them.

All I know, my friend, is that the military and the government is not here to win a popularity contest. Their job is to protect the interests of the United States and for the good of the Global economy.

We have a new administration, and I can tell you that the general sentiment here is a feeling of hope. A hope for change. The Re-awakening of America for the 21st century.

:)
