Rising Dragon: Chinese Navy

An impressive video of the naval combat fleet of the People's Liberation Army Navy.
Of China.

Soon to be the largest navy in Asia-Pacific.

I was reading into the Chinese defense program; within the past 2 decades, the Chinese have tripled the size of their armed forces strength. Their air force is as large as that of the United States, albeit they have more inferior Mig fighters, nonetheless, the United States, in its current condition, would be unable to amass a large enough force in Asia-Pacific without the Chinese Air Force not knowing about it.

At current strength, the Chinese, are able to pummel not only India's Air Force, but the combined air forces of South East Asian nations. China, is currently the largest military spender in the Asia-Pacific region second only to the United States.

As for Naval power, the Chinese already purchased rights to build a Russian-style Supercarrier. This will be the flag ship of the PLAN (People's Liberation Armed Navy). They are also focusing on building massive cruisers, that will powerful enough to batter even the coastal defenses of Taiwan, and Japan.

The Chinese already have hundreds of submarines, and dozens of nuclear submarines that prowl the waters of South China Sea, and have been seen outside the coasts of Guam.

Despite China's growing military arm, she has yet to engage in hostile actions with her neighbors. Perhaps the Chinese defense policy is only to build a massive force as a deterrant against possible enemies. Or perhaps there is an offensive goal?

Who knows. One thing is obvious, there will be a time when America's hold in Asia-Pacific will  be dislodged by Chinese hegemonistic appetite.

The Philippines, which is a shrimp compared to the Chinese whale, can only hope of a positive diplomatic policy with China.
