Virgil, it means, "LORD, have mercy." :)

Kyrie Eleison is not Latin, but, rather, is Greek. The Septuagint was written in Greek and the original Roman Catholic Church Fathers always ended prayer with the saying, "Kyrie Eleison" (LORD, Have Mercy).

Every Sunday at 11 am i attend mass at St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. Their 11 am mass is conducted in Latin. On weekdays, i attend their 8 am mass (which is performed in english), but I try to attend their Sunday mass at 11 am kai it is in Latin.

I really like it. Bisan ma late ko sometimes, i love to hear, "Gloria In Excelsis Deo...."

:)
