Money talks
« on: November 09, 2009, 08:22:12 AM »
from the bohol chronicle, on the rumored preparation of the Concepcion Ong Lim's family for the derby in the vice-gubernatorial race:

"Lim, until presstime, could not be reached for comments amid reports that the wealthy Lims of Valencia are having their funds ready for a vice gubernatorial race."

I don't care what the news media says. The Lim family are a good family. They have done alot for Valencia and for sure they can do alot for Bohol.

My support for the Lim Family!
For sure.

For me lang, even if they are rich or poor, they are a good family. The late Dr. Lim (am sure he delivered you, calle) his wife was the best friend of my Lola Nating. Palamuut jamo!

Do you know Dr. Astor Lim? He is also here in 'states practicing in Georgia. Good friend of my family's.

I respect and admire the work of the Lim Family. They are a good seed, despite the jealousy of others.
May God Bless them and more!

your lola's best friend is a different branch of the Lim family, dong. they don't support the family of Conching during elections. they are bitter rivals in business and politics though your lola's best friend's family no longer runs for office. they actively support whoever is in the other side of the political fence.

he he he, interesting information, Calle. You know the inernal dynamic of the familial ties of the powerful families of Valencia.

Yes, most of the family members of Dr. Guido Lim have come abroad. They are a very well-educated and respectable family.

I have alot of respect for them and they are well loved by our family. They hold the annual Feast Vigil of  the Blessed Santo Nino at their place, as well as give the Santo Nino to other family members to host in preceding weeks. It has been a tradition in our part and the many Valencianons that take part of the Vigil to the Blessed Child Jesus, and it has always been very bibo and loving to be around them.

That said, I have much respect for the Lim Family. Family ties and personal relationship dictates it.

Compared to the Dr. Conching branch of the Lim family, Dr. Guido's less visible in the church here in Valencia.

It is the family of Dr. Conching who is very generous to the church.  their donations may now be in the millions.

Hallo Mr. Lorenzo, ang Lim family nga gimentioned nimo kay kanang atbang sa inyong karrang balay sa Sawang no? Sila Dr. Conching Lim kay sa Canmanico man, distant relative sila pero for so long nagkabuwag jud tawon sila. Pangutan-a lang pud imong mga relatives for confirmation. Salamat. Peace everyone!

Good Morning and Regards, Junjun,

Thank you for that extended information and your point of view regarding the Lim family, especially the family of Dr. Conching Lim. I must say that I have never met Dr. Conching Lim, though only through family friends, but am very close with the family of Dr. Guido Lim, who was the very one who delivered my grandparent's children, as well Dr. Astor Lim, a very good family friend. I have never heard of anything bad about them, only in reading the political relations and political complaints by them here in Tubag Bohol. But it is indeed very opportune to read your point of view and the views of other people in Valencia wo express the need for change and better governmental provisions.

I do share your sympathy and I am empathetic for needed change, for more educational opportunities, medical opportunities, job opportunities, as well as projects that should and must include the outlying barangays and hinterlands that are from from the municiaplity's central plaza district.

My family is of the Salvo-Salise Clan, and are originally from Barangay Anas, in the bukidnon region. That is where my grandfather's clan hails from, and I do peresonally understand the meaning of economic hardship from the stories my grandfather, Mr. Casiano Salise Salvo Sr. would tell me; a life of minimum food, work day in the basaks, and the necessity of working and fishing in order to bring food to the table. Sure, i am very well aware of the hardships that are affecting our brothers and mga higala in the outlying hinterlands.

I also know very well the medical provisional situation. I know very well that the cost of medicine in Valencia and in Bohol and in Philippines in general is very expensive, and not many can afford it, let alone be treated with disparity, as some have mentioned (forgive me for my ignorance in this matter because i grew up in the 'states, but i do have sensitive feelings for the people affected, namely the poor and the dispaired).

Jun, it is in my interest to support the overall growth of Valencia, and I will continue to support projects that include not only the city central, but those that will target the barangays that are far and for the marginalized population.

It is been made known to me, my friend, and I have future plans in returning to Valencia, to establish some kind of free-clinic hospital in the region. I plan to have this incorporated throughout the entire province, if God wills it.
But please know that the cries of the poor do not fall in deaf ears.

May God Bless us all.
May God Bless Valencia and give us strong and able leaders.
Whoever they may be.

Regards,
Lorenzo Salvo Lucino.

Kamusta Sir Jun!

Wa man jud mi yamo sa una, pordoy man jud mi sa una, (sus pordoy pa man jud mi karon! he he). Maka lingaw lang pood ba kai maka connect pood ta sa plight of the common man and the human sensibility to act and want change!

My heart will always be in Valencia, for it is the land of my ancestors, the land of my Lolo and Lola. The land of my mother's entire clan. (he he he).

Salamat intawn sa imung gi pag-ampo, bai, salamat intawn. God Bless you! God Bless you! And I pray for continued wise minds and able teachers to continue to bring education to the people, and to spread the knowledge and hard work of the Valencianon! We are such an able and good-heartened people!

Yes, Sir Jun, Mr. Casiano Salise Salvo Sr. is my lolo. You may know him as 'Nong Ciano', but I know him personally as my dear and beloved LOLO CIANO. He is my beloved grandfather, in whom is cherished and loved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Perhaps you know my parents, Engr. Rico Lucino and Mrs. Liza Lucino.
I am their eldest son. You may have met me as a child. To my Lolo Ciano, I am known as his beloved "BRAN BRAN"
:)

May God Bless You!
May God Bless ALL of US!

With that said, Calle, i don't think it matters how rich a man is or how rich a woman is.
So long as they are willing to give to God, and give to the poor, that is good!
To give, in general, is good.

Ako galing, bisan di ko datu, (pordoy man ko intawn, pordoy sa loans, he he he) mo hatag man ko,
moingon man to ahong mama ,"When you give to God, give to God with  your heart, and not with your mouth and expect others to be awed how much you give. Give so that God knows you give, even if it is very little, because he knows that times can be hard."

Mao ni ahong keep sa dughan nako!

Ang mga datu sa Valencia, it is good that they give to the church, more so, if they can also give to the poor and mga pobre walang kwarta didto sa basak, didto sa bukidnon area.

Bisan gamay ra gud, tagaan lang pood sila ug loans to college, or tagaan sila ug gamay nga medicine.
Kai didto sa bukid, there are people who are still suffering from Tuberculosis, dengue, and kwarshiorkor, marasmus (malnutrition!!!)

I want this to be solved.
Ampo ta ha!

Blessed Child Jesus, may the wealthy among us share their wealth.
And have compassion as you had compassion to the world..when you laid down your life for our salvation.
AMEN.
