of course, igsoon, pero if you are isug and take martial arts at the same time, your skills and strengths are honed perfectly.

My younger brother, bisan gamay siya, he can break a block of wood already. Right now, he is already a red belt 1 stripe in Tae Kwan Do.

This picture was taken 4 years ago.

My other younger brother, Don Rico, who is a Red Belt 5 stripes (DAN), has already defeated black belts in the dojo, not because he was stronger than them, but because his skill and precision (natural ability) was augmented by standard discipline that is taught to them in Karate (Tae Kwan Do).

Don Rico can break 3 planks of wood with a mere round-house kick.

The great thing about martial arts (i know because I am Blue belt in Tae Kwan Do) is that it hones one's anger and frustration, anticipation, and all the feelings you have into one coordinated effort.

Prior to enlisting in martial arts, I was a pretty physical individual. Mind you I was in wresting in high school, and played 4 years in football as an defense nose guard. When you enlist in martial arts, you are taught to control your emotions, and to discipline yourself.

My younger brothers who have been schooling in Tae Kwan Do for 5 years now, are able to interact with classmates peacefully, active in sports and class. But I know that if ever it comes to the time that they are attacked or had to defend themselves, secured lang.

My younger brother, Don Rico, has defeated a 28 year old black belt in the dojo. I was there during their recital and form practice. The black belter tried to do a swing side round house kick and sweep comb, my brother intercepted his moves, and rolled, and did a flying roundhouse on his side. For a 15 year old kid who is 5'5 tall, to take down a man much older and bigger in size, was a feat. in my eyes.

Its about control, perceiving and anticipating the attack. And not using just brute force, but strategy. Brute force can be used against you in martial arts.

Judo, for example, uses just that concept.

Last time, we were sparring outside our backyard, just to test his might. I was instigating him with moves, he was blocking my kicks with simple moves of his had as well as his feet. I was frustrated at that, so I attempted a side roundhouse kick.

Not only did he block my kick but deflected it. He projected my energy back at me.

The result: I was pummeled to the grass.

Then I realize that size does not matter. Ive seen him break 5 wooden blocks with a vertical crush blow with the soul of his foot before.

I cannot even imagine that kind of force being applied to a human body.

Easily it could tear a spinal cord or crush ribs.

My 7 y/o boy enrolled for TaeKwonDo last year. Unfortunately, I let him stop due to his failing 3rd qtr mathematics rating. Besides, he quit after an intense sparring with a chinese. Sakit kono hehe

By the way, on Tae Kwan Do is it the same as Taekwondo ? Tae (feet) Kwon (fist) Do (art)

We have friends who take another martial arts style, called Soo Bahk Doo (Tang Soo Do) Moo Duk kwan. Which is literally means, 'the fighting hand, fighting china hand.

Main difference is:

Tae Kwon Do (Tae Kwan Do) is an offensive-based martial arts. Its aggressive, and its moves are popular not only in the domestic students, but it is also utilized in foreign military hand to hand combat. As there are moves in Tae Kwon Do that can kill a man/woman with just one hit.

One I know is the stopping punch. It is palmar punch to the sternum. If enough force is applied, it will break the xistoid process of the sternum, and rupture the aorta of the heart. Death by lethal blood loss.

Whereas in Soo Bahk Doo (Tang Soo Do) Moo Duk Kwan, it is a defense-based martial art technique that combines Korean indigenous fighting with some Chinese kung fu.

It is a great complement against Tae Kwon Do.

Tae Kwon Do students can go on the offensive and barrage the opponent till the opponent is weak enough to make a finishing blow.

But if the opponent is a student of Soo Bahk Do, he or she can block the attacks.

Did you son like his time in Tae Kwon Do? It really does help build self confidence, and also motivation. Maybe when he is a bit older, sir, you can re-enroll him again.

White stands for purity man, Brod glace.

White stands for emptiness, as a student of martial arts, we start empty. As we accumulate degrees in belt rank, we increase.

The color white has always been considered 'pure' or 'humble' in Chinese culture.

The Chinese then exported that culture to Korea, Japan, Vietnam, etc.

It stuck.
