lorenz, i love inun-onan nga bolinao wrapped in banana leaves unya iba nga fruit ang gamiton instead of suka and add a little water plus salt and garlic.....
hehehe, i tried that before, Anne. Pero not with banana leaves or fruit. The style that you described must be really delicious!
My parents love to eat inon-onan , i can smell it even from upstairs. lol. The only ones that eat it in our house is my mom, dad and i. my sister and 2 brothers don't really eat that. One time, as i was eating the inon-onan that mommy cooked the night before (i like to eat inon-onan with scrambled eggs...kai lami ang taste), my brothers came down to see what i was eating. They asked if i was eating adobo daw. lol. when they saw the fish head and the garlic and rice in my plate with eggs, they said , "Oh shooot! Kuya how can you eat that stuff...
that's like really stinky..." LOL
Stinky daw.

The reason why i like inon-onan is because when i was younger, when i visited my lolo and lola in valencia, my lola would feed me whatever she had in her plate. she would hand feed me inon-onan and rice and some fried eggs. i always asked to try what she had in her plate man gud (4 y/o pa ko adto). lol.
the memory of it (the image, the smell, and the taste) imprinted in my mind.
