Ubay stock farm in Lomangog, Ubay celebrates its 86th founding anniversary this month of September.
As a national livestock center in Research and Development and Extension Network in terms of cattle and small ruminants, it has a land area of 3,600 hectares.
It also accommodates the Phil. Carabao Center, Phil. Coconut Authority, Fiber Development Authority, Soil and Water Research and Development Station, and DENR reforestation project.
To highlight the celebration, there will be week-long activities that will start on September 12 to 17 inside the Ubay stock farm.
Among its activities will be a one-day goat raising seminar on September 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside the stock farm training center.
There will be a registration fee of P100 to cover the expenses for lunch, snacks, and training materials.
Among the topics to be discussed in the said seminar are goat health management, care and management, and goat nutrition. Actual demonstration for castration, goat hoof trimming, emergency handling techniques for goat diseases and injuries will be conducted.
The seminar will have a field visit to the USF goat project with purebred Boer and Anglo-Nubian goats and 100 hectares USF-NDA forage and seed production area.
Culmination of the week long celebration will be on September 17 to be attended by various livestock raisers, students, LGU's officials, officials from the office of the provincial veterinarian, and livestock technicians from the different stations of Department of Agriculture, Regional Office-7.
